Hello everyone I have been lurking in this subreddit for a while and I want to start foraging. It's been on my mind for ages but I just don't know where to start. Is there any recommendation for books for beginners? I have always loved mushrooms but medicinal herbs seem interesting as well.

Also I live in the North East which is blessed with the vast fields in Northumberland and the proximity to the Lake district, but I can't drive. Are there any places you would recommend for someone like myself to start as a beginner? Thanks!
