Little tribute mod to my favorite game Returnal.

This is originally a blue HSH Washburn MG-24.

Pickups are Dimarzios. Humbucker from Hell in neck position and Evolution bridge.

I got this SE 245 a few years ago. It sounded mediocre, had close to zero sustain, tuners were drunken-aligned, the veneer was glued terribly, I should have returned it right away. But you know the story: I thought I could fix it!

So I went ahead and removed the finish. The layer of sealer was so thick (2 to 3mm of plastic wrapping), it took me several weeks.

I went for a rugged finish with barely any sealer.

Swapped everything except the truss rod cover, the bridge, and the Alpha pots (which are of surprisingly good quality).

Pickups are Lollar Imperial Low Wind and a Tone Zone.

Now it sustains great with the thin finish and its bone nut. Also looks much better to me!

Truth be told, it would have been a better idea to return it, would have costed me way less! I guess it was the price of the learning experience.

Hopefully 3rd time's the charm.
