Hi! I'm trying my hand at being a Dm for the first time. I'm running obajima as the Champaign setting it's Ghibli themed and I'm super excited to run it but it doesn't come with an overarching story just a few mini adventures per village. I've been struggling to make an arching story or interesting quests for each player's character. The characters include

Meemaw Gertrude a small plump ink mushroom humanoid belly brewer barbarian she wants to help deal with the corruption to the east of the island and views each and every living creature to be one of her kids or grand kids. She is the avatar or a small sliver of the island ( the book mentions the people of the island considering the island itself to be a spirit and me and the player came up with the idea that the island has several "avatars" none of which are over powered mostly just normal people reflecting the villagers of the island )

Opal a threadborn artificer ( from the crooked moon book made by legends of advantrice) who stumbled upon the island after being recruited by a animated object spirit companion to help him find someone he dearly misses that went missing when the corruption started 3 months ago and deal with the corruption itself

Ebony a human wizard whose goal in life is to get stronger learn as much as he can about this strange new island he ended up on thanks to the same NPC opal met and to reach level 20 to learn the spell wish to bring someone he lost due to his own idiocy back to life

Martha a manatee folk (a homebrew race I threw together for the campaign) who is a spirit fused fighter who also plans to multi class a circle of the stars druid. She was separated from her merchant family not like she's too upset with that having been very sheltered she wants to explore the island and have adventures deciding to join the group for that reason. Later she notices a difference in the stars and how they move through the sky and is determined to find out why.

If anyone has an idea on an overarching story or unique stories or adventures centered around information for one of the PCs listed please let me know I could really use the help and I refuse to look at AI for help =]
