Are German women really forward?

Hi,

I've just had a conference in Bremen, it was wonderful thank you Deutchland ❤️

I had an experience which was culturally different from what I'm used to (Nordic)

Was last night after work I was walking along a Biergarten area and it was really lovely and festive.

I was admiring a ship on the river, when I felt eyes on me. Turned around and there was a German lady, about my age, who smiled and said "the ship. is also a bar, do you want to come and have a drink with me"

I politely declined and she seemed disappointed. It wasn't the only incident of this type in 3 short days.

Is this just Germans being super friendly? Does going for a drink have the same connotations? I'm not saying this is good or bad just different from what I'm used to. My female coworkers thought it was hilarious 😂

Again thank you Germany, it will be back someday, was really lovely here
