Thank you all for your kind words! Truly one of my favorite parts of the hobby is showing off what kind of crazy projects I’ve got going on.

To all of you who answered “Mini creek for high pond drain, around the perimeter of the low pond” you would be correct!

Unfortunately nobody saw the vision. That’s okay. Onto more decorating! Going to add sticks and leaf litter but I’d love to hear some suggestions!

March 2026 - Now.

I absolutely love this little bed. Perfect for small low light houseplants, mosses and ferns.

Please don’t ask me what I planted in these I actually do not remember. I just started throwing shit in there and waited for it to die. Most everything did well. I had 6 pea plants that were doing really well, flowered and then died. No idea what happened there but whatever.

Haven’t posted in a while, given the emotional turmoil I haven’t been feeling myself lately. Building a new project to get the creative juices flowing again. Curious to see what people think I’m making.

New 500gal addition with space to add another “floating” 75 gal tank on the right.

Equipped with a 4 stage wet/dry drip filter, moss garden and 55 gal dead tank

Dry filter: Layer 1

20 ppm filter sponge (2” thick)
35 ppm filter sponge (2” thick)
50 ppm filter sponge (2” thick)
Big Kahuna dual density floss roll (x2 layers)
Zeolite and activated carbon layer (.5”)
Filter floss fiber (2 bags)
Lava rock

Wet filter:

Layer 2: Wet Sponge moss garden

Towered sponge 60ppm and 35ppm with a layer of 50ppm and 20ppm being submerged. The moss garden is built on top of the wet sponge using sand

Layer 3: Wet floss and shrimp sanctuary

Dry floss dripped onto wet floss, while eventually expanding the moss garden. The fake aquatic grass will eventually be replaced as I will eventually be adding proper substrate. Moreso a proof of concept. Hoping to breed shrimp there

Layer 4: Dead Tank

55gal dead tank tote with 2 foot long bubblers. Planning on adding some rotala and vallisneria but I’m open to suggestions. It won’t be visible just want to maximize plant bio mass. No floaters as they will not work with my system.

My favorite part about this expansion is that it’s integrated into my old system. Plus I’ll be able to grow lettuce in the 2” T’s
