There is absolutely no point in widening roads when more than half of the newly widened stretch eventually turns into an unofficial parking lot for private buses and other vehicles.

Crores are spent in the name of easing traffic, trees are cut, and years of construction inconvenience are tolerated by citizens — only for the extra road space to be occupied by parked vehicles every single day.

Ironically, the widened road now feels even narrower than before because so much of the added space is consumed by parking. Instead of smoother traffic movement, Ghodbunder Road has effectively become a larger parking lane disguised as infrastructure development.

The original stop vanished due to road widening. A “Temporary Bus Stop” appeared briefly like a rare government achievement… and then disappeared too.

Now half the people stand at the old stop, half stand at the “temporary” invisible stop, and even TMT staff have no clue where the actual stop is. Meanwhile the bus drivers just glide past everyone like they’re on a Formula 1 qualifying lap.

At this point public transport in THANE is official dead!
