Best city to live in to be close to ironman events

So currently i (m24) have a strong desire to go deeper into the sport and somehow in a delusion make it my job somehow go pro etc. But as ive been finishing university to move out in the next year or so im trying to find a place or city that would save on transport cost for us based ironmans and 70.3s. Any suggestions on what places I should look at. Realistically I have all the gear id need for a few years, so id be set there so I dont need any new gear. And while I am aware this is an expensive sport, its one I wish to be part of for as long as I can even if those pro or career dreams dont happen.

Edit: currently live in delaware and am close to happy valley eagleman and im md lake placid and Jones beach.

2nd 70.3 soon, nervous asf I didnt do enough.

So for context i say second but honestly, it feels like my first proper given ive taken the swim way more seriously in terms of open water prep. However I still grow anxious given the poor winter block. While I have been somewhat successful in brute forcing 13-15hrs a week to get up to intensity for race day at happy valley the swim gets me anxious af. I say this as while ive been swimming quite a bit, lower then i should at 6-8km a week, i just lose sleep of a panic attack happening again after last year at eagleman and getting pulled out 200m in. I guess as I end this panicked rant any insight? For the block for this year right now ive swam ~120000 yds, biked 3700 miles, and run about 450. Have I done enough for race day honestly 😅. At this point ive gotten realistic and if I get out of the swim ok likely end up at 5:45 if thats even realistic.

Gauging open water progress.

So currently some swim clinics have started near me and ive been going every chance I get 3-4 times a week and swim ab 1800 yds. However I will be honest the buoys are reallllly hard to site making me have to stop and grab my life buoy to spot it. So with that said my avg pace per swim is ab 2:20 with the stops but moving pace is dropping to 2:05/100yds. Should I gauge moving pace as progress or avg pace for the overall progress on the swim.

Things I can do to get my legs to kick while swimming.

So currently ive been improving alot in my swim, ive shed an average of 40 seconds per 100 off my swim on a 1km distance, and open water is catching up as I get more comfortable with it. However I have a big problem whenever I try and kick as I swim it feels like I stop and stand still, like my brain cant do kick and swim. Any drill suggestions to make both work i guess 😂 it sounds very dumb but its stumped me for a month now as ive passed the 2:00/100m barrier (started at 2:35-2:40) January.

This is kind of a rant but the pollen this spring i swear has been demolishing me. Lately my sleeps tanked out of no where and training outside feels like im suffocating from the pollen. With so close to my a race im trying to up the volume but my sleep and I think burn out is winning 💀 im doing good on cycling and swimming right now volume wise (6-8km of swimming per week working to 10km) and also 140-160 miles of cycling) and running ab 20 miles all adding up to 15 hrs if I dont get lazy. It just never feels like enough. Idk if anyone else this time a year with pollen experiences this as well.

For those who live at the bay area near Lewes or Rehoboth beach, on days where its fairly windy how high do the swells get on average. I have a swim session tomorrow down there but based on wind forecasts im not sure id do as well in the bay to make the drive down worth it. Winds are expected when id get there 16mph with 2 ft swells. Any insight basically into the forecast vs the beaches and how they are in reality are helpful.

So first night of my local open water clinic. And i was a bit ticked at myself for getting panicky again 😒 but kept calm and kept swimming. However my question is as you can see once i moving my pace evens out. But what I notice is that I keep getting this urge to stop and sight where I calm down. Any tips to work on this?

So with the merger of zwift and rouvy my zwift ride becomes useful for rouvy. My question is it worth keeping to preview ironman courses and are times on rouvy 100% difficulty translateable to real life races to any extent or are they very inexact.

So currently im getting used to clip on bars on my trek madone sl 6 gen 8, however after some time in the position on climbs it feels like i put the weight of my upper body on my arms and it just kills my traps for some reason. Will it just take time in the aero position and thisll fade or should I adjust my aero bars up? Or if anyone knows of spacers u can use for clip ons that'd be helpful too.

So im in a conundrum ive asked around, gotten some feed back but with the season here id thought id ask here to get some thoughts. So currently i have 2 suits the artic 1 from sailfish and the ignite 2. Both fit on me meaning I can get them on just fine. However the artic one just has a 2nd skin feeling in the large tall while the ignite is a large. I also noticed swimming this Tuesday in the bay near me the artic one I felt comfortable on my back more so. When ive tried to float in the ignite it feels like I sink almost instantly. Ive also noticed it feels alot more slack, meaning lets see put my arms up alot of material feels present. When I swam with it in a race last weekend my arms just felt like wings. The armpits I could feel them grab water like a sail more so a cup. The artic 1 opposite tighter feel and so on. My question is should I get a newer suit from sailfish in the lt or keep my current ignite 2 and try and grow back into it. Currently im in the weight limit but off by 3 lbs (192 rn and 6'7") and the artic one lt ranges to 6'8" and 161-198, so on the snugger side. Any insight here would be helpful as I feel stupid buying a newer suit in the large tall if its not needed but if reccomend ill do it.

So im starting to do more open water swims in colder temps (55f and below) and only issue today is my hands and feet froze 😂. The neoprene hood i have is lowkey ripping already i got off of Amazon. However my question is what brands last when it comes to that or is Amazon stuff best for gloves and booties.

So I had an Olympic yesterday the swim went poorly (couldn't swim straight for shit 😂) and my heart rate was sky high. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for improving this in open water I could do in the pool. While I know the answer is more open water I live far from anything with open water and can do it once or twice a week but the drive is 💀. Would harder 400s and 500s to get my hr up be a good fix or anything else that might work. My time in the pool for 1500m is around 30 minutes but this swim was 38 in open water swimming off course alot.

So im on the elusive search for a tri bike my size (6'7" 34 inch inseam) and a 58 i tried at a shop felt ok but I wasn't able to test ride it. However my question is does anyone who is my size and has one what size did you get? I feel like the 61 might be too stretched.
