Hi all, I have been working with a client for 3 years now and have increased rate 3 times in that period from $60 to $90/hr AUD, which is approx. $43 to $65 USD. Student is ASD and is getting great results.
They are in their final year of high school and are booking extra sessions for support.
They are now requesting a discount for extra sessions as they are saying it is expensive, claiming I have already raised my rates a lot and that their other tutor charges $70/hr. I am already burnt out with my current workload of students and $90 is my base rate, new students already on $110-120/hr. Most of these extra sessions occur on weekends and I want to preserve my free time but don't want to cause conflict.
Should I reduce rate for additional sessions to $80/hr flat rate, or stipulate weekdays only. Please help what would be reasonable as I appreciate this is a difficult time for some financially.
