Battery Replacement Help
So I have a bit of a dilemma. My 2021 M3 SR had its second HV battery failure since I got it less than 2 years ago.
Now the first replacement (second battery) had similar range and similar results on the battery health test (84% I think) when I ran it once I got it home. My thinking is that it was a refurbished battery identical to the original rather than an LFP upgrade. The second battery lasted almost a year exactly before failing.
I was annoyed when it happened the first time, but they had a replacement under warranty and I was back to normal inside of a week. I was very frustrated when it happened again though. While it's still under battery warranty (thank God), I don't want to keep doing this and read these issues are more prevalent in 2021s specifically. I love the M3 otherwise but was resolved to get something different because of these battery issues.
But then I got mine back. Again, they had it back to me quickly... This time in 24 hours! Also, it's a different battery type (2083747-00-CC according to the invoice) and now shows 320 miles at 100%! The battery test shows 100% so I'm thinking it's a new battery!
Long story long... Will my 2021 M3 SR+ continue to have HV battery failures or does a new and different type of battery decrease the likelihood?
