Neighbors kids invited my kids to play. I asked if their mom knew, and got a quick “nope” as they ran away. I knocked on the door, introduced myself (we’re new in the neighborhood), and told her the kids invited mine in. I asked if that was okay, if I needed to hang around, if she wanted to exchange numbers (we all already have each other’s numbers from some “neighborhood directory”). She said it was fine, and the kids played.
It’s been a month since then and her kids have tried to jump our fence to come play without their mom’s permission, came to our home twice after that to play with permission.
Today I learned she started a rumor that I “dropped my kids off” at her house around my neighborhood after her kids invited ours to play the first day. Wtf.
