33f with RA, 4.5 mos postpartum, large unexplained bruises and aTPP result of 99
Hello docs- I figured I would post here while I wait for my provider to answer. I am 33f, 4.5 mos postpartum, 5’6, 233lbs. I have rheumatoid arthritis, for which I am currently taking Xeljanz and 5-10mg of prednisone (I’m in a flare.) I also take Zoloft, Bupropion, Vyvanse, and Zebound. Over the past month, I have been getting large bruises out of nowhere, some with hard bumps underneath (blood pooling?). I went to my PCP’s office last Friday and they ordered a bunch of blood tests. Everything came back normal, except my aPTT- which was 99. Again- I am not on blood thinners. Is this an urgent situation where I should be seen at a hospital right away? Can I wait and schedule an appointment with a hematologist for the next available opening? Does this sound like Acquired Hemophilia A, and if so- does that require going to a hospital more urgently to start IV treatment? Thanks in advance!
