7 Years on the Floor. What next?
Hi All,
I’m a late 20’s woman who has been on the floor for 7 years. I work for a domestic dealer and also sold used for 2 of those years. Prior to that, I appraised vehicles to buy online for a wholesaler.
My current dealership is old school and family run. There is no room for me to move up here and I’m getting bored of being on the floor. I would like to take the next step as I believe I have put in my time and that I’m ready to learn.
What is the easiest way to move up from the floor? Finance? Sales manager?
I’m very good with people and have good negotiation skills, along with very extensive domestic product knowledge. Also, I’m very detail oriented with numbers/paperwork.
Would another dealership take me on in a manager role although I have never worked the floor there?
TIA!
