I’ve been wondering this since I fell in love with German football around 2020. Why does the 2. Bundesliga club host the second legs in both playoffs (Bundesliga vs. 2. Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga vs. 3. Liga)? I understand the arguments for why the higher-tier should host second and for why the lower-tier should host second. Honestly, I don’t really have an opinion except for the fact that it should be consistent across the board. Thank y’all in advance for any insight you’ll be able to provide.
