Hi! I’m applying for a community college scholarship and I wrote a short essay about my educational and career goals.
I’d really appreciate any feedback on whether my writing sounds natural and clear!
Thank you so much!

I plan to study accounting at a community college in order to develop a strong foundation in international accounting knowledge and practical skills. After that, I intend to transfer to a four-year university, where I will expand my studies to include business management, international business, and taxation, with the goal of gaining a comprehensive understanding of how companies operate from multiple perspectives.
In recent years, Japan’s advanced technology has been highly regarded worldwide, and many Japanese companies offer high-quality products and services. However, challenges such as economic stagnation and declining global competitiveness have also become apparent. In light of this situation, I have come to believe that in order for companies to achieve sustainable growth both domestically and internationally, it is essential not only to rely on technological strength, but also to have strong expertise in accounting and finance to support sound business decision-making.
In particular, when Japanese companies expand overseas, they must navigate differences in tax systems, accounting standards, and business practices. For many companies, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, a lack of such specialized knowledge can become a significant barrier to global expansion.
In the future, I aim to support Japanese companies seeking to expand internationally by providing financial analysis, risk management, and tax-related assistance. Ultimately, I hope to serve as a bridge between Japan and the global market, contributing to the sustainable growth of businesses and the development of international commerce, while helping to bring greater recognition to the value of Japanese products around the world.
