Refund for service not received. England
Hi, I need a sense check on this.
Recently I started negotiations for buying a small business. As part of the process I needed to apply for a credit check for a guarantor for the council property where the business is located.
The council's estate agents have been, nothing but useless throughout the entire process, slow and poor with communication.
Unfortunately the seller of business has withdrawn from the sale due to how long the process is taking.
The council's estate agent has been paid a fee of £210 for the credit reference check. Which as far as I can tell has not been processed.
I have asked via email for this fee to be refunded as it is no longer required. I have received no response.
Am I right to feel I am entitled to ask for a refund for the service that to my mind hasn't been received? And if so, what are my next steps if I continue to receive no response.
