Looking for help or advise.. I have a Garmin GPSMAP 1243xsv unit on a 2023 Seahunt. As far as I'm concerned the Garmin unit came from factory with the boat. Within the past couple months I noticed the temperature readings on the sonar tab on the Garmin was reading an incorrect number - like 5def F, when I'm in 70+ water temps... No big deal I can deal with the temp being off.
I then this past weekend started getting a message displayed across the Garmin saying "Transducer too cold, sonar disabled" but it would still read sonar and depths. I told the boat service company about this message and they recommended I update the Garmin software. I ordered a SD card, did the whole ActiveCaptain deal, and updated the unit software. Now I get the same message, but no sonar reading whatsoever.. When I go in the event log i can see a list of "events" that say "Transducer disconnected: Built-in: 12-pin." Keep in mind - these events took place while the sonar was still working.
I've checked the 12-pin connection in the back of the unit and all seems well. I don't see any issues there. So I don't have sonar or depth (the big one) able to use at all. Any suggestions? Can I revert back to the old software update so it will at least work somewhat? This seems to be a somewhat common issue, but none of the fixes I've found work. It also seems unlikely that the transducer has gone bad being that it's a relatively new boat and the sonar was working prior to the update it was just giving me a bad temp reading.
