Reputable used car dealerships in the area?

Hello! I’m moving later this month to Henderson from Alaska, and I’m going to be selling my car and flying down. I’ll be on the hunt for a new used car, are there any suggestions for friendly and honest dealerships?

Moving in August and then looking for casual MTG commander events

Hello all! I am moving across country to Henderson late next month (driving from Alaska) and I play a ton of magic the gathering, and use mostly proxies. I’m not looking for legit tournaments, but does anyone know where I could find a casual commander night where they are cool with proxies? Probably a niche question but it’s my main hobby and probably the only way I’m going to make friends 🤣

Moving with 3 pets - Advice?

Hello all!

I’ve been trapped in Alaska for the last 6 years after moving here for/with an ex and I’m finally taking the plunge this year to moving to Nevada. My mom lives in Henderson and I miss her a lot! I’m so excited to live near her again especially as she’s getting older, and want to spend as much time as I can with her. The last 5 years I’ve been living with a friend in her house she bought and she’s a huge animal lover so I’ve definitely been spoiled with how lax things have been.

I’m getting ready to do the drive with my dog and two bonded cats (all 3 love each other very much, we’re a tiny family. I’ve had the cats since I bottle fed them 3 years ago and my dog for 7 years since I found him as a puppy), and I’ve seen that everywhere has a strict 2 animal policy. My mom says to just sneak my second cat in, but I’ll be honest I’ve never lived somewhere that was this strict, and I’ve never lied before.

What should I expect? I was thinking I drop one cat off at my moms and then move in and do the paperwork with the two animals, and then get a window cover film for my windows that’s like a one way mirror so no one sees both my cats looking out the windows at the same time. Maybe sneak in the second cat in the middle of the night? This is definitely a new territory for me and I’m nervous but I want to keep my family together. Do they give 24 hour notices before home checks? How often do they check? Etc

Hello all! I moved here in 2020 and as much as I love the absolutely stunning scenery and the friends I’ve made, I miss my mom and am driving down to Nevada in mid-October to live near her. I’m not able to push my leave-date earlier due to financial constraints and the friend willing to do the drive with me can’t do it earlier.

What should I expect on the Al-can? I have a Subaru forester, going to hitch a trailer to it. I’m doing the drive with a 20lb dog and two cats. I have nice studded tires that have saved my booty during the winters here. I feel like the smart thing to do would be put the studded tires on before the drive just expecting ice and snow, and then buy new summer tires once I arrive in Nevada (to avoid using the sparse space I have in the trailer for 4 tires). Or maybe it would be smarter to do the tire change in WA.

I know I need to get certificates of health for all my animals. I had my passport appointment last weekend. I know I’ll need to prebook hotels along the way. I know I need to get gas at literally every chance I get, especially through Yukon. I might even get a gas can to fill up just in case.

I feel like I’m not considering something and wanted to see if anyone else can think of something I’m missing? I’ve never done a drive like this before (I didn’t have my license when I got here) so I’m nervous.

Edit: Thanks for all the info! Definitely thinking of just selling/donating everything I have and shipping what I need to my mom ahead of time. A trailer sounds like a huge headache and risk factor. I came here in a Subaru with a trailer originally, but it wasn’t my car and I wasn’t part of any of that portion of the planning so I had no idea how much of a risk it would be.
