Y'all seriously need to start utilising the wellness apps and insurance benifits your company gives

I used to think employee wellness apps were just another thing companies add so HR can say “we care about employees” 😭

Then last month I got sick out of nowhere.

Started with mild fever and body pain, but within 2 days I could barely get out of bed. Still tried working because obviously.

Finally went to a clinic nearby and doctor asked me to get blood tests done immediately. I am already too broke to go to the doctor lol.

While booking the tests I randomly remembered my company wellness app existed. Opened it after probably ignoring it for 1 year straight.

Booked the tests through the app, got the reports the next day.

Ngl, made me realise most of us completely ignore the benefits our companies already provide until something goes wrong.

Modern wellness apps are actually pretty useful during situations like this.

PS: mine was Onsurity and the experience was surprisingly smooth.

Why does purchasing employee health insurance feels like a scam?

I own a manufacturing unit in Visakhapatnam with around 100 employees. Around 30 are blue collar workers and 70 are white collar employees.

For the past 5 months I’ve been trying to find a proper group health insurance plan for my company but honestly every insurer sounds amazing until you actually start asking questions.

In the past i took insurance from star health and it was terrible experience.

Main issues I’m facing:

- Weak hospital network outside major cities

- The claim process looks painful

- Wellness benefits feel useless

- Most plans seem built only for tech companies

- Hardly any focus on preventive health for factory workers

I’m not just looking for “insurance”. I actually want my employees, especially the blue collar staff, to become healthier over time and actually use the benefits

Things I care about:

- Good cashless hospitals in Andhra/Telangana

- Annual health checkups

- OPD if possible

- Doctor consultations

- Mental wellness support

- Smooth claims experience

- Parent add-ons would be nice

Would really appreciate suggestions.
