Is the Guard actually trained as well as they can be?

I get told a lot and shown a lot of memes of the guard being the equivalent of the Halo grunts. I read however that guard training on average was several weeks. I’m not sure how long exactly that is but my basic for the Canadian military was 13 weeks I think.

So at least on a purely time based measurement it sounds like their training takes a similar time. Mind you I was no sof person and I’m comparing to the average Guardsmen.

So are they actually trained to a decent level for a military force and just horribly outmatched? Or is their training really as bad as the memes would make me think? Although they do die in droves, the guard seems to win more than it loses.

How do the Chaos forces select their target?

So time does not operate according to our observations in the Warp. It’s proven difficult to really understand how time in the Warp operates abut I do get it at a base level. My confusion is how the Chaos forces select their required time period. The Black Crusades took place in succession of their numbering but is it possible that Abaddon in M41 can purposely select say the Fifth Black Crusades’ time period and then travel to that specific time.

I don’t have a source for this but I was also told that the individual marines in the Warp may not even precive the passage of time correctly relative to each other even if they came from the same origin. HH era Marines in M41 but they precive only 100 years passing. Something like.

I’m most likely over thinking it but the sheer nature of the warp makes it seem that making grand coordinated assaults like the black crusades should basically be impossible. Please help.

What exactly do Tech Priests know?

I’m no engineer in any sense of the word but I understand the basic concept of how software works, nuclear power, mechanics a bit. But we understand what the process is that is occurring in a system, at least to a basic level.

So when Tech Priests are working on any given system or device, how much of the process do they understand exactly. I know about the machine spirits and what not but do they know for example how fission reactor works in the basic process? When does it go from “I press this button that makes this do that” to “we must appease the machine spirit”. They clearly understand the science behind their technology to some level, I’m just trying to narrow when “appease the machine spirit” part begins with them and the “extract the fuel rods to enable the reactor’s fission begin” ends.

Sorry if that seems a little jumbled. But thanks for the comment if you leave one. Have a nice day.

11ed Emperor Question

In real life, when was the last time GW had an official depiction of the Emperor on the throne? I tired to Google it but I can’t tell which ones are official and which aren’t. So when was the last time GW gave us the official image of him on throne? Wanna see the gap in time between and the images in the trailer. Thanks everyone.

Why is Abbadon in charge?

From what I’m understanding, Abbadon seems to the overall commander for Chaos undivided. Is this the case? I’m not sure I understand why he would be in charge and not one of the demon primarchs. Thank you and have a good night.
