Romaine Esse, this has moved a bit fast but what once started as a hope we might be in as turned into reality that we are in for the palace winger. A couple of reputable OneBoro posters are claiming the ✅ who do get things right, but Boropolis isnt yet and does appear to hold more weight.

Ethan Nwaneri, hes been told he can go out on loan this season from Arsenal and there is hope we see him as an alternative to Esse amongst the OneBoro posters. No official links from reputable posters or journalists yet.

Reyes Cleary, initially this started off as a hopeful post by a Oneboro poster who badly wanted boro to sign him, the more you dig the more he fits hellbergs system but i’m not so sure he would come to boro to be backup to Whittaker. Barnsley won’t let him go cheap but there is plenty of interest in him at the championship level. As i’ve stated i dont think we sign anyone else permenantly unless they are on a free from here on out, but this lad could be that little difference maker on the right side and offer a different dimension if we did go after him.

Eamonn Tohill, this young lad has signed a scholarship with boro at the age of 16 and comes highly rated. So lets see how he gets on over the next couple of years.

Seny Dieng, off to greece to a team i’ve not heard of before. His contract was ended by mutual consent as he gives up his alluded £20k a week boro contract 12 months early.

Sontje Hansen, seems to be in the advanced stages of his boro exit to a yet unknown club. Good player there but seems to feel lost in a boro shirt.

That brings our registered players down to 19 above the age of 21. Which gives alot of wiggle room for players to come in.

Cozier-Duberry, seems a bit of hope in the message boards that we should sign him but brighton are knocking back bids of £7m+ for him from Rangers.

I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say we are probably going to sign a pacey striker before the window closes. A traditional pacey right winger who can cover RB, and a central midfielder who plays a bit further forward of morris/berhalter. This based on the links to the profile of players we have had previously linked with in the window but havent signed that profile yet, and based on statements from Boropolis & local journalists & Hellberg himself. I dont think any players sign permenant from here on out unless they are free agents.

If anyhing else pops up il update the post but today does seem very quiet again.

David Strelec, couple of rumblings on the back of Nixon’s article that his potential transfer to Getafe may be more advanced that alot of people think, however one FMTTM poster who also claimed this name dropped the replacement who has only just signed for a new club. So it feels a bit smoke and mirrors, i think he’ll score goals alongside lankshear so if he is moved on its only because the club gets an offer that they deem suitable in order to reinvest.

David Strelec, Nixon is linking him with a move to Getafe due to in nixon’s opinion falling down the pecking order at boro behind Lankshear & Joseph & Whittaker & Conway. I actually think this is a wrong assumption. Strelec will be played in the 4-2-2-2 formation alongside Lankshear, Joseph played today due to Lincolns physicality and he had a brilliant game as well and was unlucky not to score and assist. Against Blackburn, strelec would likely start instead.

Djed Spence, secures his £24m upfront rising to £30m with a 10% profit clause move to inter milan, with a 15% profit heading boro’s way. Its believed Spurs paid £12m with as much as £4m in add on’s so £1.2m initially heading boro’s way rising potentially to £2.4m. Officially to be announced soon but the lad is in italy completed the move now.

Rav Van Den Berg, Everton have shown an interest in the former boro RB who we still hold a 10-15% profit clause. Its rumoured he could go for as much as £20m which would be a fee of as much as £1.5m to boro, but boro will have missed on several clauses in his original transfer to FC Koln

Harry Amass, some rumours starting to emerge of West Ham showing an interest in the Man Utd youngster as a replacement for Diouf who is expected to be sold this summer. The initial rumour came from a troll account but there does appear to be some truth to their interest, whether that turns into a formal offer remains to be seen. He was on boro’s radar for this suer before Arfsten signed, and still could be if we dont secure a winger and we look to push him up the pitch due to injuries we may need find another LB.

Ashley Phillips, his transfer to boro has taken a step further forward as Romero has finally booked his exit out of Spurs. Its likely that once Romero’s replacement is secure phillips will be allowed to move to boro.

Aiden Morris, back in training after his injury but isnt likely to play at the weekend. The good news is that everyone should be back in training from next week, but with Conway the only one expected to take a bit longer to be match fit.

See how this plays out but i don’t see how he pushes into the team here with little to no game time pre season and Cartwright probably playing a bigger role this season i find it hard to see where Hansen slots in.

Squad requirements, its expected we will be signing a CB (Phillips), a CM and a RW target, whether these are loans or permenant remains to be seen.

The CM’s could be Justin Deveney or Otto Rosongren, with an outside chance of Jordan James if his move to wolves doesnt go through.

The RW target is an enigma, but on OneBoro a reliable poster has had a snippet that the winger is from europe. Place your bets but Madjed from Hammarby might be a shout although he kinda lacks the Ben Doak pace that gave us success previously. Certainly has the trickery and the ability to finish that we would want.

Stephy Mividi, this rumour has come out this afternoon for the leicester man, I personally think there is nothing in this but ya never know. I’ll await the Boropolis ❌.

Hellberg has apparently said he wants a “striker” a CM and a CB, but i think he meant foward. As discussed earlier the rumblings are that we are in the market for a right winger. Hellberg also stated expect a signing next week but then backtracked saying few weeks. Tick tock, but the window closes in less than 3 weeks.

2 conflicting stories, one saying this right winger is european, another stating they are not. Feels like its someone who plays in europe but is not european, so it could be Madjed. He does lack the pace i’d want for a winger though, but he is a class act but unproven at this level.

Jordan James, Wolves have won the race to his signature and he has entered into advanced discussions in a £10m move. I reported yesterday he was a Wolves fan, but its also being claimed that he isnt and hes a Birmingham fan, i’ve not done any digging myself but either way he probably has family in the area and so it makes sense to move to the midlands. Where he fits into that Wolves squad will be interesting unless they plan on letting some lads leave.

Justin Deveney, Middlesbrough are expected to turn their attention to him now. Definitely a different player to James though.

Victor Eriksson, his transfer suggestions has been there ever since Hellberg arrived on teesside, there are some rumblings out of sweden that Hammarby are close to agreeing a deal with boro for the swedish centre back and he could be seen as a long term replacement for Luke Ayling. Its even discussed on OneBoro that we may buy him to loan back to Hammarby til he has sufficient points to guarantee a Visa to play in the UK which could tie into Luke Ayling possibly retiring at the end of the season. If he does retire i’d love to see him in a coaching role as hes one of the best leaders our dressing room has seen for years. Hopefully he gives us one more promotion before he possibly hangs his boots up. Top lad.

Ashley Phillips, the ITK poster who claimed his deal to boro was back on, seems to be correct as Nixon is now reporting that an agreement has been made and the player is desperate to return to teesside to complete the move.

Jordan James, its expected he will decide his future in the next couple of days with West Ham, Middlesbrough, Wolves & Southampton all in for his signature. West Ham are hoping to sign Engels from Celtic who will command at least double James’ fee but hes apparently not their first choice. James’ is apparently a Wolves fan and would normally jump at the chance to play for his club but is concerned about his chances in the team given the amount of central midfielders. Southampton have sold Shea Charles and have the money to chase a replacement now. Boro and southampton offer him the best chance of playing time, so a purely football standpoint he could choose either. One of those decisions of head or heart.

Ashley Phillips, yesterday it was reported his move was on hold. So the details are starting to emerge now that an issue was picked up in his medical just like Kyle Joseph’s move earlier in the window. On the back of that, there is 2 rumours that are conflicting but seem to be a way forward in the move. One rumour is that boro are trying to negotiate the up front fee down because of the issue noticed in his medical, and the other rumour is that boro are looking at getting the lad in on loan initially with an obligation to buy at the end of the season.

Jordan James, by all accounds several clubs are after this lad with boro in the pack, but there seems to be some rumblings of boro being his first choice as we can offer him a first 11 slot unlike the others. Although after saints secured an agreement on Shea Charles they may enter the running now too. All that said, its being watered down by the Evening gazette saying boro will struggle to meet the financial package needed to secure him. I personally feel like the only way it works is if we change the phillips transfer to a loan, which frees up extra cash to secure James. Spurs may go along with this if we ignore the issue found in his medical and pay the full fee for him if we get promoted. Lets wait n see how it unfolds though, we may get a shock surprise and we secure him. If we do, we will definitely have a top 3 squad if not better.

I think he will do well this year and kick into gear like Sarmiento has. We certainly dont need to move him on to make room in the squad.

Ash Phillips, quite a few tabloids reporting his deal is on hold. A similar thing happened to Kyle Joseph and in the end his fee dropped. There is rumours Hull have made an approach but its likely spurs would demand a much higher fee from a premier league team. By all accounts he was ready to move to teesside, so unless there is a medical issue it seems a bit strange to be on hold.

Jordan James, boro are one of a number of teams chasing his signature in the championship with him expected to cost at least £10m. Makes me think we will be looking to get him in, in order to push Malanda back into CB if the phillips deal is off, or the morris injury is more longer term than we realise and we need another high profile CM to come in. I find it unlikely he would start over morris and berhalter in a 2, but if we played them all as a 3 it would push malanda back into defence.

Boro 1-0 Wrexham, class performance from the team, some rustiness and nerves which should settle soon enough but good to see Boro win for the first time this summer. Hopefully another next saturday against Lincoln.
Big shout out to some of the lads who got some stick last season and put out a solid performance, Brynn + Sarmiento + Edmundson all played well and Brynn easily could have been MOTM behind Lankshear for his vital saves. Sarmiento looked like Juninho reincarnate at times and if he plays like that all season we have banked another top class player that just needed a pre season to get upto speed. Still think we need to work on defending crosses into the box though as again that left side is getting balls in uncontested and finding strikers far too easily just like the playoff final.

We may need a RM/RB to come in on loan to give us a different option if Brittain gets injured, I think Kabore may be a shout from man city, did well at Wrexham last year but again no rumours of this yet. We’ll need a RW/RF for whittaker unless we put joseph over there if he gets injured.

I can see minimum 2 loans and 1 free transfer by the end of the window but i think the pace will be slower now as we have the core of the team done.

Radek Vitek, sell on fee is 35% of profit, United have matching rights and a buyback inserted believed to be over £20m. Total package is believed to be £14m if boro are promoted and he makes so many appearances and cleansheets, initial fee apparently between £6-£7m. Good bit of business.

Marcus Tarervier, according to an FMTTM poster its expected that Man United are to make a £40m bid for the former boro lad, which would result in boro receiving in the region of £3m from their 10% profit clause. It was expected that Liverpool had shown an interest as well, so hopefully a bidding war starts.

Club Memberships have finally gone on sale for £20 each as an alternative to season tickets. In principle you get a £2.50 discount per match day ticket you buy through the season for people who cant make every home game. So if you go to at least 8 of the boro home games you earn your money back. It also comes with the added benefit of 10 priority points. It may not seem a great deal at first glance, but i’m pretty sure anyone who did this last year was much higher up the list for the playoff final tickets than those who didnt. Food for thought for fans who do shift work or work away and can’t make every game to justify a season ticket. I personally bought them as I can’t make every home game.

I noticed this yesterday and I wasnt gonna share it but some of the sheffield united fans in the championship subreddit were talking about it like it was legit so i thought id mention it here. Oliver Skipp, previously linked to boro in the early days of the window, it appears he is gonna go onloan to preston as Ben Whitemans replacement after he forced a £2.5m move to Wrexham.

Radek Vitek, I mentioned this late last night but there is heavy rumours he has finally agreed a deal to join boro on a permenant deal, there does appear to be a couple of things to settle out but it appears to be done for less than the £15m people expected him to go for.

Ashley Phillips, the same source on Vitek is also claiming phillips deal is all wrapped up and due to be announced shortly.

Unnamed englishman, there is a rumour we have advanced negotiations for an english player and after doing some digging it appears it might be Harry Amass who i have mentioned on here previously although its thought this deal is not as advanced as Vitek or Phillips.

Max Arfsten, he is on teesside everything is done just waiting on international clearance which if hes cleared by tomorrow he may be able to play againdt Wrexham. I’d imagine he might be starting to train with the squad now.

Max Arfsten, plenty of rumours of when he arrived on Teesside, some are saying he was at the Riverside on saturday, some saying he arrived on the KLM flight on sunday from Amsterdam. Nick Pope, random twitter account linking us with a move for Nick Pope, i think at the beginning of the window he was seen as a No.2 to Brynn and good enough to take his place if Brynn had a dip in form and there was rumblings about him coming to Teesside. However now it appears the club seem hellbent on finding a No.1 and as such I cant see the Pope rumour being true.

Ross Stewart, linked heavily to boro earlier in the window but after Lankshear i dont think stewart fits our needs anymore and as such those rumours died off. It now appears he is going to Swansea on a free with Vipotnik likely to head to West Ham in a big money transfer in the region of £20-25m.

Kieran Morrison, Boropolis gave him the ❌ last week but his name has popped up again on the rumour front.

Justin Devenney, so this rumour has started to gain some traction with a total package of £6-7m in a permenant switch for the young palace attack midfielder. I think he needs a championship move and I can see this lad as our long term Mcgree replacement, but what that means is its likely Hansen may make way which i think is a shame because he did show promise towards the end of the season.

Outgoings

Absolutely nothing today, but I think after today’s open training session we may start to see some lads start to be moved on. We have currently 24/25 slots filled for the season assuming Arfsten signs. We are expecting a GK/CB/CM & a winger or striker or attacking mid to come in. That would put us potentially at 28 players, as such I think we will see a minimum of 3 lads move on before the end of the window. There has been links on Burgzorg, Whittaker and Kante previously of the 25 registered squad, with some fans also thinking/expecting Sene, Bangura, Edmundson, Hansen and Strelec to possibly go as well. Not withstanding some of the under 21 lads like Munroe and Mccormick being linked with clubs.

I personally think we’ll see Munroe go when Arfsten arrives but he doesnt count towards the 25 man squad. I think we’ll see Sene or Ibeh end up on loan somewhere like Preston potentially if another striker comes in. I think strelec is going nowhere as he fits the system now lankshears arrived. Bangura I think will stay, Burgzorg may go if the right offer comes in. Hansen may go back to europe but I think Kante has looked promising in pre season towards the end of games and I can see Hellberg using him off the bench as part of a low block to dominate central midfield when legs are tired and we need to hold onto a win. Whittaker will stay unless we get a stupid offer of £20m+. Forgot to mention Dieng, i think its obvious Dieng will be moved on, if not he’ll be used as a No.3 GK but as of yet nobody is interest in his high wages and lack of any football.

Max Arfsten, spotted in the stands at the Riverside during the open training session. Appears his transfer will be completed shortly and just waiting on his international clearance.

16:00 Update

Ash Phillips, an FMTTM poster is claiming the deal is done and spurs have allowed him to move to Boro with it being wrapped up by midweek, and hes on teesside now. Take this with heavy doses of salt as hes not one of the regular “ITK” types on transfers but does have connections to the club evident during spygate as he knew alot more than most did.

21:15 Update

Radek vitek, rumour going around that boro have secured him on a permenant transfer. The fee is believed to be less than £15m some speculated his value to be. No more details for now.

The same rumour as above, is also claiming Ash Phillips is 100% complete and due to be announced soon.

There seems to be a rumour of an english player also being fairly advanced in transfer discussion, no name as of yet.

Early one today, but i’ll update as the day goes on as I think it might be a bit busy on the rumour front.

Incomings

Diant Ramaj, Boro have been linked with the Dortmund keeper by the72.co.uk in a permenant move as the club dont see value in a loan move. The 24 year old keeper would be an outside option on the gk front considering Vitek & Travers seem to be the front runner with Van Oevelen also on the radar.

George Hirst, boro held an interest in him previously but this window it appears to be quiet but it appears Ipswich want to move him on this summer with Stoke City expected to be the front runner.

Outgoings

Morgan Whittaker, the West Ham interest for now appears to have been rubbished but with the ongoing ownership problems at West Ham it appear Bowen may be looking for an exit now. Whittaker would be a proven championship replacement for Bowen but he wont come cheap. It was previously rumoured boro were looking for a minimum of €18m from Tranzponspor, but for a championship rival to come in for him you’d expect in the region of €25m minimum to secure a move away from the riverside. Rumours of Whittaker laughing the transfer off are floating about so there is probably nothing in it.

David Strelec, appears to have removed all social media posts in a strange move. Its easy to put 2 and 2 together and get 5, but this may be a sign of unhappiness at Boro after the signings of Joseph and Lankshear. I personally think he would thrive alongside Lankshear taking the physical heat off of him and giving the opposition defence something else to mark and think about creating space for Strelec to receive and get a shot off. From my view he plays better when hes not crowded out and next to Lankshear who is likely to be crowded out he would have alot more freedom.

Scott Wilson has put out an update on Vitek & Phillips. Seems Phillips is inundated with offers, Vitek remains boro’s priority for our GK ambitions this summer.

Dan Gore, Boropolis have given him
the ❌, but there is a rumour we have bid £4m for him, i’m calling shite hes not worth that much with 1 year left on his contract.

Emanuel Latte Lath, secured a 1 year loan to Union Berlin ending his transfer saga with boro that has gone on in the background all summer.

Mikey Moore & Ash Phillips, an FMTTM poster is claiming we are getting neither of the Spurs lads as they’ve turned us down. I dont personally see us getting Moore, nor do we need him if Bangura & Whittaker & Arfsten & Sarmiento are available IMO, not to mention Conway & Joseph. Hes a good player but i think we are covered now. As for Phillips, i think we’ll get him but lets wait n see. I think he’ll be weighing up his options now and hoping for a lower prem or a west ham approach etc, if that doesnt materialise i think he’ll sign for boro. I dont think we should hold that against him, as a promotion push against the teams in the championship this year (whu, wolves, saints, norwich, derby, wrexham etc) is gonna be a tall order and i feel like hes good enough for the prem.

21:30 Update

Mikey Moore, FC Koln have secured a 1 year loan for the spurs winger, ending the speculation on the possibility of him moving to Boro. Not shocked, think some people were overly hopeful on this one.

Club News

Boro 3 - 3 Espanyol, entertaining game, worldy first goal from Espanyol, 2nd one of theirs looked offside but il check the replay later. Boro look a threat from setpieces finally with Berhalters balls in, although he did go full johnny wilkonson for one of his free kicks which he was clearly angry at himself for. Berhalter was quality, Lankshear is a unit and a real problem for any defence to deal with and even scored early on only for it to be ruled out for offside. We looked sloppy when getting countered just like last season. They’ll need to address that or we’ll be exposed a bit. Big positive though we scored 3, defence is easier to fix that not being able to score. Young lads Daley looked solid when he came on barring a scuffed pass late on, Cartwright played 60+ mins and although he was instrumental in our build up to some of the goals he was caught in possesion a couple of times, definitely showing promise and likely to play a role for us this season.

Justin Devenney, several sources including boropolis dropping this name today as someone boro were enquiring about, not much more to go off for now.

Max Arfsten, arrived on teesside today and likely to complete his transfer officially next week before the Wrexham game on friday once international clearance is given. Rumours he was at the game overlooking in a beige jacket, he was on teesside but i certainly didnt see him there today.
