World Cup Portugal
Having a friendly debate with my friends about Little Portugal in Toronot going absolutely balistic with their win over Croatia. Roman candles going off for hours and the streets flooded with Portugese flags. I find it weird there wasn't this enthusiasm for the country they call home when Canada made it to the 16. I understand Portugal has a better chance and the rich football history of the country. Am I being overly patriotic to think people should be just as pumped for our country doing the same thing Portugal just did? (context: I dated a portguese girl for 2 years and lived with her family for 4 months. I know the general sentiment towards mangiacakes). Would love to hear from some Portugese people in the city on the different volumes of enthusiams for each team's win.
