Day 4 of recovery

Day 2 and day 3 have been the worst for me. Luckily, this time round hasn’t been as bad as it’s been before. I only puked for 3 hours straight on Monday morning, went to the ER and got IV with some zofran and Benadryl. Btw, Benadryl makes me so much more anxious and restless so I’m not taking that again.

Thankfully, I get prescribed trazodone so whenever I’m in too much pain, I take it and drift off. Also have a butt load of zofran that my neighbor gave me. This has been a definite wait it out situation which is the WORST.

The stuff I do to help ease the symptoms:
Swimming/hanging out with friends outside. Very good distraction from the waves of pain and nausea. When I get minor panic attacks, I do my square breaths and that actually really helps as stupid as it sounds. I’ve been drinking water and Gatorade like a damn fish. I’m on day 4 and I’m still having abdominal pain and it’s hard to eat obviously. I have been eating normal food. I haven’t really been sticking to the brat diet to be totally honest. Ugh. I just can’t WAIT to feel better. I’m guessing I’ll feel better in 4 more days.

It’s hard to admit but I’ve been through these episodes too many times. I have records of these episodes. The last time I went through this was last September. almost a whole year. I was feeling back to normal at the week and a half point. That episode was way worse than this time round. That’s why I think I’ll feel better at the 8 day mark. I don’t wish this pain on anyone. It actually feels like you’re dying. I just wish chs would become more researched and well known.

Question

Are there any otc pain meds that work for that burning in your stomach sensation? I’m in the recovery phase and Tylenol doesn’t work for me. Just wondering what works best.
