Here is a sample of me speaking. So I have some kind of accent?

Okay so this is my voice. What kind of accent do you think I have?

This is a year old, but I’m hoping someone responds. For a few years now in different times in my life, I feel like I’ve spoken with either a slight British accent or a certain pronounced one, so much so that people at various workplaces are always asking me where I’m from. I’m a Hispanic male with no ties to England, and yet this keeps happening. I don’t know where it comes from. It’s VERY ODD. And yet it almost feels very comfortable to me.

I notice that if I’m watching a British person on YouTube or I hear enough of the accent, I pick it up immediately. I’ve heard theories that if this is what you do then maybe it’s your mind that does this so you fit in with certain people around you, but there are no British people around me in my life. And I do it sometimes out of the blue, with no aural stimulus to make me speak this way. It does feel comfortable speaking this way at home, but if someone somewhere else speaks up about it I’m embarrassed.

I’m not easy to share a sample of my voice yet, maybe I. Future I will. I also have a tendency to write in what I think is a kind of formal British way.

I’m almost embarrassed to be writing this. Can someone please give their opinion on this?
