Almost getting hit in the crosswalk
Literally walked to the crosswalk and stopped. Looked both ways, one side was clear and the other side the car had stoped for me. As such, I started walking across the road in crosswalk. Then here comes a car flying down the other way and nearly hits me. I shake my head at the car and the elderly driver yells at me for “walking in the road”. M’AM THIS IS A CROSSWALK. THERE IS MARKINGS ON THE ROAD AND A YELLOW CROSSWALK SIGN UP. YOU ARE IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA!!!! Don’t be speeding and flying down the streets and then get big mad when someone is in the crosswalk!!!!!! I understand being distracted and making accidents or having reduced visibility in weather conditions with crosswalk areas etc, but the fact that you are mad me for using the crosswalk is INSANE!!!!! Literally drivers here have gotten so nuts and I know this is just one example, but I feel like the anger of people on the road is scary for drivers and pedestrians alike.
Edit: Just to be clear, I think the general suckiness of drivers is distributed fairly amongst all age ranges. I’m more ticked that someone yelled at me for using the crosswalk after almost hitting me :/. Like the ego and narcissism of others on the road is willlddddd.
