Why does the majority of Filipino pageant winners and actors / actresses have eurocentric feautures when most Filos look austronesian? Shouldn't entertainment represent the majority instead of the minority who didn't even grow up here?

I've been living in the PH for a couple of months now. I realized that a lot of these pageant winners and entertainers are just half white contestants.

Nothing wrong with it, but I feel they don't really represent the majority of Filos I see on the street. Who are mostly Austronesian by look. Such a shame that the locals don't embrace that.

If you look at the past winners that were chosen to represent PH, a good chunk of them either look european or can't speak a word of filipino. If that happens in countries like japan or korea there would be an uproar. I wish Filos would take more pride in their looks and just wing it. Who cares what the international organizers think, time to embrace that Filipina beauty whole heartedly!
