What are these? Developed first on face then spread to arms. Very itchy

Asking for my friends mom who’s had this since February. She’s been to the er and 2 dermatologists, tried steroids and ointments, nothing seems to be helping. They’re a bit more healed now but still very itchy and painful for her. Located on her right cheek and all down her right arm. What could this be? She just gave birth about 6 months ago if that helps anything.

Nearby medical 🍃

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for any good dispensaries that carry medical marijuana products. I’ve found some good recreational ones, which is nice, but I’m looking for more symptom management. I usually stick with concentrates, edibles, tablets, and tinctures. I like to target inflammation, joint pain, and muscle spasms. Of course I’m seeing doctors for these issues and they’re aware I’m using weed as well. I have my state medical card and am of age. Just looking for more variety and to see if there’s good spots around, or any delivery options as well.

Thx!

Seizure or just hypertension… or maybe smth else??

Hey everyone. I’m 22F with a lot of medical issues that haven’t been fully figured out. At the moment I have been diagnosed with: hypertension, sinus tachycardia, dysautonomia, POTS, hypermobility, and chronic joint pain. I’ve been seeing lots of specialists (cardiology, neurology, orthopedic, rheumatology, etc.) to get the answers I have. But, something new happened to me last night.

So I’ve occasionally had my hands tense up to the point to where I’m not able to move them and they feel locked up, it’s painful to try and move them or use something besides my body to try and move them. Eventually they go back to normal after a couple of hours or the next day. I’ve been prescribed muscle relaxers but never have them when I need them, so I don’t really take them.

I wrote out this morning what all I remember happening last night, when this episode happened.

For context I take medications such as: effexor, ivabradine, vitamin d, ferrous sulfate, losartan potassium, and most recently spravato treatments. I actually started the spravato/esketamine treatment yesterday morning, and this happened later that night. I am 165 pounds and 5’1, 22F.

- Was using a weed vaporizer (erig for concentrates, used for pain mgmt) and coughing a bit every couple of minutes, not heavily at all

- Was timing my breaths in my head to make sure I was taking deep breaths but I could feel something bad was about to happen. I assumed I’d pass out or something, since that’s what usually happens with my pots. But, not this time.

- Symptoms start with an onset of crazy ear pressure (felt like my head was full of air that was trying to force itself out through my ears) and red spots in my eyes (looked like red tv static that covered my whole vision to the point to where I could not see through it)

- After a couple minutes I was having whole body tremors and my throat felt like it was spasming. My throat was opening and closing sporadically, making it hard to talk. Could only talk when my throat would release for a second. Spasms felt like 1 sec on 1 sec off so my sentences def had pauses. This went on for about 20 minutes and was the last symptom to leave

- My hands were so tense I couldn’t move them, they were locked in place like some weird claw

- Was very dizzy so I thought maybe my heart rate was super high. Tried to softly sit on the floor, ended up half falling half throwing myself to the floor.

- Laid on the floor with elevated legs and my friend called my partner

- I was still counting my breaths and everything but no symptoms were getting any better. Felt like it went on forever

- Eventually partner came and after a couple mins helped me sit up to get blood to my head

- Was still shaking and vocal cords and eyes messed up

- After about 30 minutes I was able to see again gradually and my ears stopped hurting

- After about an hour I was fully back to normal and was able to stand and walk home

So yeah. This is next day and I’m not really sure what went on… I felt like I was convulsing the whole time and my friend was thinking I had a seizure or smth. Google says maybe my hypertension. So here I am, asking doctors if Reddit. If anyone has any ideas on what the heck went on, pls let me know. Thank u!!

Medi-Cal Dentist (wisdom teeth)

Hey all. Ive been to 2 dentists (west coast dental & bright now), and both are quoting me about $2k to get my wisdom teeth removed after insurance coverage. I’m getting all 4 taken out, and they’re all fully developed. The top 2 are pushing my teeth together so my front 2 teeth are going crooked. My bottom 2 are completely sideways, visible in my mouth, and right on the nerves. They say I’ll need heavy sedation for the procedure, the issue is when talking about the healing process. $2k for the bone graft. I’m not able to pay for that and have horrible credit, so I’m kind of in a bind. Does anyone have any good oral surgeon recommendations?

I just need them out, and keep getting dead ends. They’re just going to keep hurting and pushing my other teeth. If anyone has suggestions pls lmk!!
