Newest acquisition, 1944 M91/30

Post this in r/mosinnagant already but here you are.

The stock is sponge like and rotted, its cracked, dented, scuffed and beaten, it has basically no finish left on it, the top handguard slides forward when firing, but I love it.

I'll gladly take advice on restoring it to a better condition, im already planning on putting it in a new stock, shimming it for accuracy, cleaning the bolt and anything filthy or rusty with steel wool, and maybe just maybe, getting saucey with a drill some day to turn it back into the sniper rifle it once was.

It's not bad for accuracy, doesn't keyhole and I could hit a target at 100 yards, just dont ask about groupings.

My first Mosin, and some questions.

An M91/30, dated 1944 from Izzy. I dont know much else about it other than it looks like an ex-PU sniper rifle. Shoots fine. Obviously it's pretty rough though, and I wanted to ask for some advice.

I'd like to get it in better shape than it is now, as it is when I got it it seems to be missing most of the blueing, the inside of the stock is rotted and sponge like, as well as absolutely covered in gunk and falling apart, the front sight hood is bent to one side although im not sure if it's throwing the aim off at all, and the rear barrel band is loose and the top cover slides forward after firing.

I was looking to replace the stock, clean up the metal, and see what that does for it. Any advice on fixing it up? Maybe even convert it back into a sniper rifle someday, as the bore is pretty good. Im mostly curious about the thoughts on the front sight hood, if I should replace the whole assembly or try to bend it back maybe.

My first milsurp purchase (A tad late)

A Gewehr 88, no /05. You may remember this from the absolutely horrible duffle cut at the wrist. After contemplating if I should have it fixed or not I figured if I wanted to shoot it more than once I might as well. Thank you very much to u/silicondioxides for fixing it for me, they did a very good job given what the break and damage was.

Ill be back in a couple weeks with my third when it gets here! Does break my WW1 theme I had going though.

My newest and second milsurp purchase.

Always wanted a 1903, so I got one. Late 1917 I presume given the barrel, not exactly an expert on it but it is pretty neat. Cant wait to hear old people tell me it's liable to explode.
