This is a concept of Saurid, member of Lizardfolk race which lives in the Planet of Soma.

Culture & Background:
The Saurid race and their cultureare heavily inspired by a mix of Mainland Southeast Asian countries (specifically Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia) and ancient Mesoamerican civilizations, especially the Aztecs and Mayans.

Their philosophy:
Because the world was created through the suicide of the Creator God, known as Univers, many Saurids follow a nihilistic philisophy which says that there is absolutely nothing after death, assuming that the whole World is dead already and will remain rotten forever. Also bonus fact: many Saurids interpret that Univers isn't actually a dead human, but a Serpent eating its own tail.

Position in society:
For many Saurids, living on Soma is not easy. They have long history of enduring colonization, exploitation and slavery. Even nowadays, the nightmares of past still hits them - they frequently face systemic racism, extreme poverty, and marginalization.

My inspirations for the race are Argonians from The Elder Scrolls. (my fav fantasy world) and for the entire World, my biggest inspiration is Elden Ring, in creating a rotten and destroyed world.
