Is it just me, or is finding F1 fans in real life impossible?
I swear I'm the only person I know who's obsessed with Formula 1.
Most people around me either think it's "just cars driving in circles" or have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about when I mention qualifying, undercuts, or tyre strategies. Meanwhile, I'm out here checking practice results, refreshing qualifying times every few minutes, and somehow getting emotionally attached to the outcome of a race happening halfway across the world.
Race weekends are basically my personality at this point.
I'll be celebrating an insane overtake, complaining about a questionable FIA decision, or yelling "BOX, BOX!" at my TV like the team can actually hear me. And then I look around... and nobody gets it.
I just want people to chat with before races, predict podiums, argue about strategies, share memes during red flags, and celebrate (or suffer) together after the chequered flag.
So if you're an F1 fan, let's be friends.
Who's your favourite driver?
Which team do you support?
What's the best race you've ever watched?
And while we're at it... pineapple on pizza? Yes or no? Let's start a completely unnecessary argument.
Anyway, if you've been looking for more F1 friends too, drop a comment. It'd be nice to have people to talk to instead of explaining for the hundredth time that Formula 1 is not NASCAR.
Is it just me... or is finding F1 fans in real life harder than getting pole in Monaco?
Is it just me... or is finding F1 fans in real life harder than getting pole in Monaco?
Okay, genuine question...
Where are all the Formula 1 fans hiding?
I'm surrounded by people who either think F1 is "just cars going in circles" or ask me, "Who's Lewis Hamilton?" Every race weekend I'm sitting there screaming at my TV over strategy calls, safety cars, undercuts, tyre degradation, and DRS trains... while everyone else is wondering why I'm so emotionally invested in 20 people driving at 300+ km/h.
Meanwhile, I'm over here:
Checking qualifying results like they're exam scores.
Calculating pit stop strategies that will never matter.
Waking up at ridiculous hours for races.
Saying "Just one more lap..." even though there are still 35 laps left.
Convincing myself that this race definitely won't destroy my mental health. (It usually does.)
I just want people I can:
Celebrate crazy overtakes with.
Complain about questionable FIA decisions.
Debate whether a pit stop should've happened two laps earlier.
Share memes during red flags.
Predict podiums before every race and be completely wrong together.
At this point, I'd happily talk to anyone who knows the difference between soft, medium, and hard tyres. Bonus points if you've ever shouted "BOX! BOX! BOX!" at your screen like the driver can actually hear you.
So... if you're an F1 fan, say hi! Tell me:
Which driver do you support?
Which team are you backing?
What's your favourite race of all time?
And most importantly... pineapple on pizza: yes or no? (Let's start unnecessary debates immediately.)
Let's build an F1 friend group because race weekends are way more fun when you have people to celebrate (or suffer) with.
