Day 10 no 7oh

6 hours from typing this post, I will hit 10 days!!!!!!

Most physical symptoms gone. Very mild RLS remains

My problem right now? Slight insomnia issues...I've had it worse before though. Got 3-4 hours sleep, took me until sunrise to even fall asleep.

Lemme tell ya, every night since the insomnia started, I've been seeing fcking SHADOW PEOPLE at night and it is soooo not cool. Usually happens like 2-4 am ish when I'm just AWAKE in the dark wishing I could sleep.

I know they aren't real obviously I'm not that delusional, thought I'm clearly hallucinating.

It's like a full body experience, the FCKING HAIR on my whole body will stand up, and a rush of icy cold chills, and I'm seeing black shadow people standing like 10 feet to my right just STARINGG, I'm sure glad they just disappear when I look directly at them. But if I don't, it's...they don't disappear, they're just THERE in the corner of my vision.

I'm not crazy 🤣 but when will this STOPPP

Screw this man I'm letting my mental heal and staying sober til my last day.

Much love guys good luck keep pushing lemme know what you're struggling with, sharing helps you're not alone

WELL FELLAS, IM TAKING A RISK

Guide to enormous reddit post- scroll down to "AN ANTIHISTAMINE & MELATONIN" if you can't be bothered to read.

Otherwise read on for details of day 1-7

7 days off 7 today, 3 days off Kratom.

From 500mg/per day 7oh

Days 1-3

I used ,15-20grams of Kratom powder per day, spread out doses. Minimal symptoms. I could actually sleep like 6 hours

Day 4

Like 10 grams Kratom, maybe little less. Here comes anxiety, still no terrible withdrawal symptoms. 4-5 hours sleep, but solid sleep, only woke up a few times.

Day 5, nada, zip, nothing. No Kratom or 7, clean.

Here comes some moderate symptoms but wayyyy more tolerable than cold turkey. Wake up nose runny, some sneezing but not as much as CT, a little yawning, some chills/hot flashes, random full body sweats, not all day persistent sweating like with a cold turkey quit.

RLS begins creeping in as the night approaches. My most feared symptom. I'm awake until the freaking sunrises tossing and turning, kicking them legs. Thankfully no "RLS" (RAS?) in the arms this quit attempt. Hated that last time. SUNRISES, I CRASH OUT AND SLEEP FOR 4 HOURS. NOW, I did wake up at least 3-5 times every hour, so that's...too much for restful sleep. But compared to complete insomia of my last cold turkey quit, being wide awake for 3 whole days...yeah I'll take my 4 hour nap of tossing and turning, I'll kick those legs a bit, whatever.

Day 6 still clean, no 7/Kratom powder

symptoms persist, though as night approaches, I notice...they're not getting worse like they usually do at night. Finally got my hands on my old batch of helper meds. Had some gabapentin already, I didn't preload VIT C or anything like I could've/should've. So night 6, I take 500mg vit c(1 tablet, not liposomal{however that's spelled}) as well 2 valerian root capsules, 2 magnesium glycinate 200mg each capsule, the highest safe single dose of gabapentin according to Google lol(1,200mg single dose), a men's daily multivitamin, 1 zinc(Vitamin D3, 1 capsule 50mg)

AND GUESS WHAT. I F**KING SLEPT!!! 4 hours, of BLACKOUT, LIKE YOU'RE DEAD, SLEEP, from. 1am-5am. Woke up, so thankful. So so thankful. Very surprised. Reminder- my last cold turkey quit I didn't sleep a wink for 3+ days, the next week after that was started at and hour of sleep a night, gradually increasing an hour a night on average until I hit like 5-6 hours for the first two weeks of sobriety. Week 3-4 started getting more like 6-7 hours of sleep. PLENTY

DAY 7 & 7 HOURS AFTER 7OH, day 3, 7 hours after Kratom powder, TODAY, as I type.

Haven't eaten in over 2 days. Just don't care to, no appetite. Until this point I'd avoided a common withdrawal symptom - diarrhea. Well. The magnesium glycinate...let's just say never trust a fart. That was a first time for me. Could've went without that to start my day.

Symptoms almost NON-EXISTENT, no hot flashes, no sweating. Some random chills still, but I'll take it. No RLS throughout the day. I want to note the depression and anhedonia sucks on the mental side of withdrawals, but I'm used to feeling that way, and I've done this before. I know what waits on the other side. That sweet, sweet pink cloud of feeling unstoppable in life. Physical withdrawals, and the return on my chronic pain is what always bothered me most. I can deal with crippling anxiety/depression etc, always have.

RIGHT NOW AS I FINISH TYPING THIS OUT

Worst is over. As of the last few hours, I haven't had. Any. RLS. Zero. Now usually it gets a little worse at night specifically when trying to sleep, brains evil joke way of saying EFF you DON'T do this again.

I didn't preload(though i probably should've) I didn't even get any helper meds other than Kratom powder, and a little gabapentin days 1-5 which, yes, helps, I have quit without gabapentin, so I understand the difference it made for me always. It's no miracle, but it helps. Hell, anything helps when you're going through hell.

This evening, I've taken the same meds as yesterday, day 6. With some RISKY, DESPERATE ADDITIONS.

AN ANTIHISTAMINE & MELATONIN

- 2 Benadryl/diphenhydramine (25mgx2) and 2 melatonin(5mgx2) it is widely accepted that melatonin and antihistamines like Benadryl and unisom/doxylamine succinate can make symptoms worse, such as RLS. At this point, I'm feeling well enough to take a risk in exchange for a chance at a good night's rest.

Will see how that goes and perhaps update tomorrow should anybody actually read the enormous amount of text.

SHORT TL;DR - leaving his here for research purposes, all experiences can help another get clean.

SLIGHTLY LONGER TL;DR Not much special to read here, just uploading a post because the more we share our experiences, the more can be learned and be helpful to others. It's more important than you think. Some of y'all didn't see the early days. 2-3 years ago. Had people out here that never were addicts to anything, absolutely hooked 7oh, not knowing what the hell was happening, what was coming, terrified, and Ill-informed. There just wasn't enough online yet. TEST SUBJECTS WE WERE.

Anyone headed south from Anchorage this evening? Down seward highway to at least Girdwood? I'm stuck.

--EDIT-- problem solved! A very kind redditor saved my day! I didn't know what to expect when making this post, but my hopes weren't very high. I feel very lucky, fortunate, and grateful that someone had it in their heart to help me, a stranger, when I needed it. --END EDIT--

I live in Girdwood, but I was visiting Anchorage today and now I'm stuck, my ride home was unreliable it seems.

Can pay cash to help with gas, if that helps.

I'm down on huffman road right next to the highway headed out of the city, at the Walgreens here on huffman road

. Really gotta get home because I don't have anywhere to stay in Anchorage, left my debit card at home so all I've got is some cash in pocket. Otherwise, I would just get an Uber or book a bus ride for $60.

Please let me know folks, I actually don't know how I'm getting home tonight

Not even sure if I can ask this kind of thing without getting in trouble I've never had to do anything like this but I'm from Michigan just moved here for work last year, so I just don't know any folks that can give me a ride today.

I know I know, I should've brought my car from Michigan, I just wasn't confident it would survive the drive during winter.
