I had my cervical screening 4 weeks ago and for the first 4-6 days after having it I was bleeding. Since then I’ve had a really irritating UTI. Now normally utis just go on their own but not this one. I’ve been waiting it out and finally went to the pharmacy who prescribed me 3 days of nitrofurantoin. It’s be 1 day and the UTI still persists. Is this normal? Has anyone experienced the same since their smear ?

I haven’t had a urine test but my symptoms persist of short and painful wee. Bladder feeling extremely irritated
