Avengers: Doomsday releasing this December and I genuinely can't cope with the hype

So we finally have a release date locked December 18, 2026 and the fact that they're bringing together heroes from THREE different universes (MCU, the Fox X-Men universe, and whatever's happening with the Fantastic Four crew) for one movie is insane on paper.

The biggest thing for me is obviously RDJ coming back not as Tony Stark, but as Doctor Doom. That's such a wild casting swing. Having the same actor play the hero we lost and then the villain who might end the multiverse feels intentional in a way that's going to mess with people emotionally.

Also heard it's dropping in Dune: Part Three's release window, so Doomsday reportedly won't get the wide IMAX rollout domestically that's a first for an Avengers movie in a while.

Things I'm curious about:

  • How are they actually going to juggle this many heroes without it turning into a chaotic mess (looking at you, Age of Ultron pacing)?
  • Anyone else more excited for Doom's motivations than the actual "everyone teams up" spectacle?
  • Do we think this sets up Secret Wars properly, or are they going to rush it?

Dropping my predictions in the comments curious what everyone else thinks is coming.
