Hi i have been wanting to plan a trip to new orleans for so long and am trying to find a time to actually do it later this year. Im a broke student looking at going for a few days before school starts again in Jan and cheap flights are steering me to go from Mon or Tues the 28/29 of december and leave friday the 1st. These nights are obviously all weekday nights, so wondering will i still have a fun full experience with no weekend nights (im sure new years eve will be lively but just wondering for the other days)? Or anything else to consider with visiting at this time? Thank you in advance to anyone responding!

Hi i am broke college student trying to take a low budget trip here for a couple or few days for my birthday in december. First question is this a good time to visit? My bday is just a few days before christmas, will i still get the fun spooky vibes of the city at this time?

Any cheap, safe hotel recs are welcome!! I will not have a car and want to stay somewhere close/walkable to the busier tourist spots of the city since i'm mostly vising to explore the nightlife, shops, and food of the town. Any other advice or recs for a woman travelling alone here are welcome, thank you!
