The bed is crashing into the nozzle. Did my Kobra S1 die?
Hello everyone! My Kobra has brought me a lot of joy in less than a year, I've accumulated over 2,000 hours of printing time. I always perform regular maintenance, so I know the basics of this printer pretty well, and I'm also well aware of its terrible bed leveling issues and other quirks.
Here is my current situation: Anycubic closed my support ticket without giving me any answers two months ago, and I'm trying to deal with them again. But right now, Reddit is my last hope.
The Problem:
Every time I turn on the printer, it tries to calibrate the nozzle, but the nozzle crashes directly into the heated bed, flattening against it and making a terrible, loud grinding noise.
What I've done so far:
I bought a brand new strain gauge sensor (strain gauge / sensor gauge) from AliExpress and replaced it.
I replaced the entire hotend assembly as well.
I thought, "Awesome, this will fix it!" But when I went to test it, the exact same thing happened. I noticed there is a red LED on the printhead board (breakout board), but I don't think it's the strain gauge LED itself, since the sensor is brand new.
Could the motherboard be failing to register the sensor's signal? Or could it be an issue with the extruder printhead board/wiring? Honestly, I don't know anymore.
The nozzle is very well positioned, its height is also perfect, and its fit is flawless. I've replaced the nozzle several times before, and it's identical, so it's not a matter of fit, height, or anything like that.
Please forgive my English, but I really hope you guys can help me out. Thank you so much!
