I’m a healthy 66 year old woman with a history of 3 years Dexa scans. Doc said my osteoporosis is getting worse so he put me on Boniva pill once a month (generic). Took it Saturday at 8:00am with only water. Stayed upright for the morning, coffee at 9:45am. By 4:00pm I had a fever, 101.8, weak, achy, tightness in chest. It’s now 8:30pm Sunday and no relief yet. And of course , the DIARRHEA is UNCONTROLLABLE (sorry for tmi) but it scares me a little. Left message for my doctor. I’m a teacher taking kids on a field trip tomorrow with no available substitute to take my place. I’ve been taking Advil but it only brings the fever down a little bit.
Although I’ve read up on this drug, I think I way past uncomfortable. Anyone with experience? Will I feel great tomorrow? I won’t take it again if this is what I can expect.
