Surgery is no longer an option and I'm really sad about it

I'm so disappointed and defeated right now. My DeQuervain's started about 6 months ago, and after an unsuccessful corticosteroid injection and OT, my next option was surgery. I had to wait until I could opt for a short-term disability plan in order to take time off for recovery. Open enrollment just wrapped up, and the insurance company required an EOI (evidence of insurability). The instant response was that I was declined coverage due to my medical history. I won't know specifically what condition(s) until I've sent a written inquiry by mail. My wrist never gets a break because I'm a dental hygienist, so I'm stuck not knowing how to move forward. I'm so tired of being in pain 😞
