Ready for next level of ciphers but dont know where to start.

Hello all I am a college student who is very intrested in ciphers and I have a good understanding in math and computers. I have a good understanding of many base level ciphers and crypytography such as caeser cipher, base64, binary, simple substitution methods, and stegonography. I have had an intrest in these things for a long time as I am a fan of many ARGs and other mysteries that use ciphers. I have had thoughts of creating something similar to these works but I am not fully knowledgable on more difficult ciphers yet and I am hoping there are some good recomendations here of ciphers or how to find them. Some ideas I have had in the search are:

- Looking in my schools library and archive for old cipher books. (I go to one of the oldest colleges in the nation)

- Trying to make my own cipher. ( I am unsure where to start with this but I am sure I can do it with time)

- Finding niche ciphers through reddit or other places online.

If you all could please give any recomendations or advice that would be helpful. Please ask any clarifying questions if needed. Thank you!
