First time messing with electronics and terrified, but it was worth it ✨
It's just a basic shell swap compared to the really cool stuff I've seen others do, but I'm very proud of the work I put into it and, more importantly, that it still turns on and works flawlessly! Shout-out to the many, MANY guides read and videos watched before finally working up the courage to perform surgery on my beloved handheld. I learned a ton and have a newfound appreciation for how well engineered and repairable Valve made their hardware.
If you're someone who's been thinking about doing something similar but still on the fence because you're not sure you can do it, I'd say go for it! At your own risk obviously, but I feel like as long as you have a steady hand and the patience required to sit down, lock in, and figure this out step by step it's a very fun and educational DIY project.
The shell is extremerate's "blue bell" OLED shell for anyone interested.
