First time biker here looking to get started with decent ride, M size fits me perfect and need suggestions on this.

I currently have an opportunity to pick up a Mongoose Ledge X1 for $280. A full-suspension bike at that price feels like a steal, but I’m worried about the weight and pedal-bob. Since I’m spending a lot of time on roads and flat green trails, I don't want something that feels sluggish and exhausting to pedal.

Any opinions or alternative recommendations in this price bracket would be hugely appreciated. Thanks!
