Today is May 17, 2026. I am writing this with tears in my eyes, trying to drown out the sounds of my parents arguing in the other room. The financial stress in our house has reached a breaking point, and I feel like I am dying inside.
I am 29 years old. I live in a developing country where my parents are both aging teachers, making a combined total of around $60 a month. Last year, I lost everything after being betrayed and scammed. I was left with nothing. I became a burden to the people who feed me.
