"Bloodlines"

"Bloodlines"

I watched this season 10 episode the other night. I don't usually watch later season episodes but I liked this cast so I gave it a go. I don't know if I was too tired but I think I missed how Jessica figured out who the killer was. I know she remembered 2 car doors closing but I some how missed how she figured out the identity. Does anyone remember ? I'm away or I'd put in my Bluray to find out.

Also, it's funny how all 3 horseracing episodes involve switching horses. You'd think by now Jessica would just assume that's the issue.

Characters that the show lets off easy.

SPOILERS: For me, there are several instances where the show lets characters off a little too easy. Salvatore Gambini in Season 4's "A Very Good Year for Murder". He may have killed a hitman who was endangering his family but he did plan and carry out a murder instead of calling the police. The idea that Jessica wants to let him get away with it (I know he's about to die but still), is so out of character (except When Thieves Fall Out Jessica). Kimberly from Season 6's "Test of Wills", she's suppose to come across as sympathetic but I found her to be too wimpy for me. Yes, she killed by accident but she did try to place the blame first on her grandfather then her aunt, both bad people but still. Finally for me is Eudora in Seasons 5's "Mirror Mirror..." She may not have tried to kill her, but she did drug Jessica and steal and copy her book. At the end she should not be off to visit family but off to jail. Any others ?

Longest stretch of favorite episodes

What is your longest stretch of favorite episodes that aired after each other ? Mine is in season 2, 8 episodes. It starts with "A Lady in the Lake" and ends with "Keep the Home Fries Burning". I love all those episodes. If it wasn't for "Powder Keg" coming between, it would have been 11 episodes.

"Murder in Milan" S9-E1

Watched the season 9 opener, "Murder in Milan" yesterday for the first time in awhile. Jessica goes to a Milan Film festival for the premiere of a film based on one of her books. The one thing that stood out for me with this one is that they presented the movie producer played by the great Susan Blakely as the villain but I'm on her side. She discovered this novice director, signed him to a contract, but now that his film is a hit, he wants to break his contract and work for someone else. No, I'm team Susan. I got to meet Susan at a convention a few years back. Lovely woman. I mentioned she has the distinction of being both a MSW killer and victim. She laughed saying she loved working with Angela.

Same scene ?

Yesterday I was watching the season 8 finale, "Murder on Madison Ave", at one point Jessica lies to a building super to gain access to an apartment, she says she lent the man her large coffee maker and she has the girls coming over for poker. I could swear I've seen this same scene in another episode, but I think it that one she lies to get access to a doctor's office. Am I crazy or does anyone know that episode ?

Jessica in Later seasons

I was never a fan of the later seasons. Seasons 1-5 are the gold standard for me. I like the Jessica episodes of seasons 6-7 but have no interest in the others. I've grown to really like a lot of season 8 but past that, with few exceptions, I never watch. With episodes live on Roku, I've tried to give them another shot. But aside from some 90's nostalgia, I still don't enjoy them. I figured out the main reason, it's Jessica herself. To me, she loses her warmth. There is a coldness to her interactions with people. I never believe she is close friends with these people. The fact that Grady only comes back once, no Donna or Victoria, no real family really hurts it. Jessica is so stiff, could you imagine Season 11 Jessica pretending to be Emmaline Polsby of Polsby's General Store and Dry Goods in Pullman City, or dancing to the jukebox waiting for Auggie. Even when she's back in Cabot Cove, she doesn't come across like she belongs there. maybe it's just me, lol

Withholding Clues

Can anyone think of any episodes where they withheld clues from the audience ? The one I always come back to is Season 4's "Deadpan". Jessica figures out the killer >!because he uses the name of the wrong actor in both his TV review and the phony print review.!< But at no time do we hear anyone read that part of the review. Any others ?
