[Landlord US-CA] Eviction help
I’ve been having issues with my current tenant paying the rent on time. I know I should’ve evicted him a while ago, but he was going through some personal issues and I was empathetic to his situation. He’s now way behind on rent and I googled his name and found that he was previously involved in an unlawful detainer prior to moving into my place two years ago. I am a landlord with one single-family home so I don’t have a ton of experience, but I’ve now retained an attorney to file a three day pay or quit for the full amount and I feel a little stupid and like he has been playing me this whole time assuming I am able to get an unlawful detainer and have him evicted. What are the chances of being able to recoup money that he owes and how long does the process take? I know that California is not landlord friendly, but this guy has a record of not paying. Will the city look unfavorably to that any help is appreciated.
