Sci-Fi books that really invoke the majesty of space.
Perhaps an oddly specific request, but I've been reading a good amount of hard sci-fi recently (the Inhibitor Trilogy, Project Hail Mary, Children of Time, All Systems Red). I love them all, but I wanted to know if there are any sci-fi (or science fantasy) books that really portray the sheer awe of outer space: how do humans react when surrounded by a universe that is far bigger, older, and mysterious than they could ever truly comprehend? Books that really give that stomach-dropping feeling of staring down the dark, infinite eye of a black hole like in Space Engine or Elite Dangerous.
I'm more specifically looking for adventure or thriller stories, but cosmic horror is also welcome.
