What's at stake in this anime?
I really enjoyed Inuyasha since the 2000s and still enjoying it on Netflix. But one thing now that Im an adult, and thinking through things... It's never really clear what's at stake in this series?
In typical series like FushiginYuugi the protagonist girl is trapped in the fantasy realm and is trying to get back to her own world. But in Inuyasha kagome is freely able to go back and forth the past and present... And the present is already peaceful.
So I don't understand why she has to bother going to the feudal era? Demons don't even exist in the modern day. And it's so weird how kagome doesn't even bother to wonder why she had to go back considering Inuyasha doesn't even exist in her time period hundreds of years later... No Naraku.. no evil demons...
So what's the point? Other than her high school crush on an ancient half demon breed?
