Preparing for ob/gyn workup
I've been put on a waiting list to see an ob/gyn about my symptoms, and since the waiting time is 2-3 months I figured I might ask about what to expect about the process and if there's anything in particular I should push for (aside from intravaginal ultrasound since that's a given)? I haven't been to the ob/gyn for 9 years so I feel like a fish out of the water here.
I'm posting here but obviously I don't know if I have fibroids, a cyst, endometriosis or something else entirely. The symptoms sort of match all of those. 🙃
Don't know if it's necessary to post symptoms for this but in case anyone is curious:
Bloating and weight gain (despite losing centimeters everywhere but my stomach and being on a pretty steep calorie deficit)
Bladder urgency/frequent urination especially at night
Bowel urgency (biggest problem, some days I can't leave my home at all)
Menstruation like cramps in my uterus area that used to come and go but are now constant
Irregular periods despite being on the pill for 5+ years
Severe fatigue
Not anemic (yet) but my iron levels went down by a lot the past few months
The symptoms started 5-6 months ago and have only gotten worse over time.
The only workup I've had so far is through my PCP who isn't good... Tried to blame all my symptoms on stress but at least took some blood tests to rule out stuff like pancreatitis and IBD. The only thing that came back slightly elevated was CRP so I assume there's some minor inflammation somewhere. I'm also waiting for a CT scan of my abdomen, though I doubt it will show anything.
