Just got approved for my first surgery! I hope it’s the right call

I just left the gyno and we will finally be having surgery!!! Not the surgery I wanted but it’s a start.

The surgery I want : endo excision specialist 4 hrs away. Where I would get the hysterectomy I wanted well well before the word endo became a part of my life. And a full endo excision (as much as they can get) including dealing with my ovary.

What I will be having : my left ovary has a cyst in it that measures 10.3cm! I am now experiencing ovary torsion which means even though it’s huge! It’s not attached in a way that makes it immobile. So we will have a laparoscopic surgery to empty the cyst and hopefully save my ovary. While she is inside she will take a look and see where my endo is. THEN and only then, could I maybe get a referral to an endo specialist in Vancouver.

I am both very excited and very scared. I hope this is the right step. I lost my job back in February due to this, I’ve lost a lot of social life, and all month I’ve been looking at different canes to help me walk. I’m 24 and I was genuinely debating getting a full blown walker. 😂 Now I have a surgery to fix a big part of my discomfort, but is it normal to feel kinda upset at the same time? I would much rather do this all in one swoop. Why do we gotta do this surgery for a small part, just to have another bigger one later? Ya know?
Either way I hope it’s a good first step in seeing what is ahead for me.

💛🎗️Any tips or recommendations for surgery recovery would be so so so appreciated! I don’t really have a physical support system or good community so I’m gonna be alone for 90% of my recovery. any advice would be very helpful!! Thank you!🎗️ 💛
