What if Victor isn't actually that obsessed with the taste of peaches? What if in the last cycle, they ran out of peaches right before the shit hit the fan too? So maybe Victor ate peaches on the reg as a comfort to himself that this new cycle was still in dormancy?

Two cars show up at the same time, someone comes who is really good at the violin, trees move. All harbingers of death. Maybe peaches too. While we're on the topic, the moving trees seem to be the penultimate phase before death finally arrives. Every time something bad or new happens, Victor is measuring the distance between the damn tree.
