Gleuteal Tendinopathy pain

Hi,

After having mild pain off and on for years and it getting much worse in the last year or so, I've been told I likely have Gleuteal Tendinopathy. This was after they suspected Hip Impingement or Dysplasia or osteoarthritis, but the X-ray ruled them out.

I'm due to see a physiotherapist next week so hopefully they can give me a few more answers and an actual diagnosis.

In the meantime I swing between not really needing much in the way of painkillers on a good day to taking 30mg/500mg co-codamol and it barely scratching the surface on a bad day. I can't take nsaids as they affect my heart rhythm.

This is my first experience with a prolonged ongoing issue, I've only ever dealt with a broken toe (kicked a rubbish bin) and a stab wound (trying to separate frozen sausages - yes I'm an idiot) in the past.

Does anyone have any non-nsaid recommendations to help deal with this pain that I can use when I'm at work in between co-codamol doses?
