This Russian Kolpak-1 riot helmet belonged to a soldier of the Vladimir SOBR "Sungir" who were fighting along the Vladimir OMON "Aleksandr Nevsky" and was captured by Ukrainian soldiers on 3 March 2022 near Kharkiv. It is complete with its original visor and liner. Chin strap is missing. The handwritten Г-38 on the shell refers to either a unit number or inventory stock.

Some more about the helmet background story: In the opening days of the 2022 invasion, Russian interior-security units from Vladimir Oblast were ordered to advance toward Kharkiv, in unarmored trucks and prisoner transports, loaded with riot gear: shields, batons, and helmets like this one. Russian command expected the city to fall quickly and had tasked these units with crowd control and policing a captured population. Instead, they drove into a city that was still fighting. The column was ambushed and destroyed by Ukrainian defenders. At least four senior Vladimir SOBR officers were killed in the engagement. Sources put the minimum death toll at around 40 personnel from the Vladimir SOBR alone.

This is a pair of Layer 8 winter trousers from the standard Russian VKPO all-season clothing system, manufactured by BTK Group in April 2015. Designed for extreme cold weather conditions.

Zippers are fine. Overall signs of field use including some oxidation on the metal suspender loops and adjustment buckles. This is an earlier production batch from 2015, distinct from newer contract runs.

Has the integrated ribbed climate shock-absorbing dampers (KAP) sewn directly into the carrier, along with the standard collar and groin protection flaps. Was captured by Ukrainian forces operating in the Zaporizhzhia direction

The set includes a hooded winter jacket with fleece-lined collar and velcro insignia panels, paired with matching high-rise trousers ("SHVVZ") featuring adjustable suspenders and reinforced knees. The internal label says  "Власність Національної гвардії України, не для продажу" (Property of the National Guard of Ukraine, not for sale). Size is a 48/3 Medium Short.
