Looking for a slowpitch bat with great pop that actually lasts
Hey guys, I’m looking for recommendations for a slowpitch bat for my dad, who’s 60 years old. I’m mainly looking at senior bats, but I’m open to pretty much anything.
He plays in an open league with no bat restrictions, so certifications aren’t really a concern.
The priority is really good pop with decent durability. I know some of the hottest senior bats perform insanely well once broken in, but can crack, get too soft, or die pretty quickly. I’d rather find something that gives up a little bit of peak performance if it means it stays hot for much longer.
Ideally, I’m looking for:
- Great pop / exit velocity
- Large and forgiving sweet spot
- Good durability, especially for a senior bat
- Something that stays hot for a long time instead of dying after a few hundred swings
Basically, I want to get him a hot senior bat that he can actually use as a workhorse.
Since there are no bat restrictions in his league, what would you guys pick if performance and durability were the only things that mattered?
Current models or old-school/discontinued bats are both welcome. I’d especially like to hear from people who have actually put a lot of swings on them.
